There's been a lot of buzz around the Beetlejuice sequel since long before it was officially announced, and that buzz only grew with confirmation of returning and new cast members. That's completely understandable, especially considering that there was literally no better pick to play the daughter of Winona Ryder's Lydia Deetz than Jenna Ortega. They're like kindred spirits for so many reasons, the latest being their in-sync updos at the Venice Film Festival.

The stars of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice attended a screening of the film on Monday, August 28, and even though Ortega's tulle Dior ensemble was a near-perfect match for the red carpet, it definitely didn't blend in, instead channeling the famous red Lydia Deetz wedding dress from the original movie. Even Ortega's eye shadow was red—a true tribute to her character's mom.

Ryder, on the other hand, wore a more subtle nod to the movie with her black and white outfit, also wearing a long tulle skirt that's topped off with a cropped blazer and vest. But the actors' floor-length, fluffy skirts weren't the only matching elements of their looks: Both Ortega and Ryder opted for curtain bangs and buns.

Hitting just at their brows, both stars' bangs were gently parted—Ortega's a little more so than Ryder's—with slightly longer pieces framing their faces. Ryder's hair was swept up high into a voluminous bun while Ortega's bun, made more voluminous by hairstylist Bobby Eliot using The Hair Shop Skinny Clip-Ins, hung low and loose.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice might inspire a lot of Halloween costumes in October, but these red carpet looks are undoubtedly going to inspire a few hairstyles immediately.
