UPDATE (July 24, 2018 1:49 P.M. EST): The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, which is a certain Duchess's favorite base makeup, now comes in 31 shades including an expanded medium to deeper range.
In case you've been hiding under a social media-devoid rock, the Meghan Markle effect is strong. The actress and humanitarian isn't a duchess yet and already everything she touches receives the glow of royalty — her posh lipstick, signature messy bun, and even her nose (which is inspiring plastic surgery procedures). Everyone wants a piece.
Another Megan signature people on the Internet would like to steal? Her fresh complexion and freckles. According to Markle's former makeup artist Lydia Sellers, there's one specific foundation responsible for her flawless, freckle-dusted glow. Armani Luminous Silk Foundation ($64), which is actually on sale right now for 20 percent off, gives the perfect amount of coverage while still letting the future royal's freckles peek through, she told PopSugar.
The soon-to-be royal recommendation gets better: The lightweight foundation was "inspired by the silk shantung worn by kings and emperors," according to the product description on Sephora's website. The formula, which is made for all skin types, "allows the natural glow of the skin to come through no matter how many layers you apply," Giorgio Armani himself says of the product. With 24 shades, it's fairly inclusive, though the range definitely skews lighter.
Freckles, perhaps unsurprisingly, are one of Markle's favorite features. "To this day, my pet peeve is when my skin tone is changed and my freckles are airbrushed out of a photo shoot," she previously told Allure. "For all my freckle-faced friends out there, I will share with you something my dad told me when I was younger: 'A face without freckles is a night without stars.'"
Luminous Silk Foundation was even an Allure Best of Beauty winner, so it's in good company, having been lauded since it launched in September 2001 as a makeup artist staple. Several Allure editors credit it as a ride-or-die foundation. We're glad to see it glow-up even more with Markle's recommendations. All hail Duchess Meghan, queen of empowering beauty moments.
To get your own bottle of that Markle glow, you won't have too much trouble finding it. The Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is available at multiple retailers, including Nordstrom and Sephora, for $64.
